ClickFluent ("we", "our", or "us") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users learn languages by translating selected text on webpages and building a personal vocabulary. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
By installing and using ClickFluent, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the extension and delete your account.
When you create an account via Google Sign-In, we collect:
When you select text on a webpage and request a translation, that selected text is sent to our server for processing. We do not store the raw text you select. The text is forwarded to our translation service, and only the translated result is returned to you. If you choose to save a word to your vocabulary, the original text, its translation, and the surrounding context sentence are stored in your account.

We track basic usage metrics tied to your account to power features like streaks and progress tracking:
These metrics are displayed to you in your Settings page. We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number or payment details. We only store a Stripe customer ID and your subscription status to manage your plan.
The extension stores the following data locally on your device using Chrome's storage API:
This data is stored only on your device and is cleared when you delete your account or uninstall the extension.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
ClickFluent uses the following third-party services to operate:

The extension's content script runs on webpages you visit but does not passively read or collect page content. It only processes text that you explicitly select and choose to translate.
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page within the extension. When you delete your account:
Account deletion is immediate and irreversible.
We take reasonable measures to protect your data, including:
ClickFluent is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the extension or by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of ClickFluent after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
